NXT Episode 197
May 18th, 2016
Full Sail University: Orlando, Florida

Blake, Murphy, and Aries all come out for their tag match, and it's reviled that Nakamura is the mystery partner.

Blake & Murphy (w/Alexa Bliss) vs. Austin Aries & Shinsuke Nakamura
Pretty much an angle/squash match for NakARIES! B&M have some miscommunications early which allows the faces to pretty much destroy Murphy, Murphy doesn't tag out even when he gains control and that ends up backing firing with Nakamura kicks. Blake jumps off the apron when Naka teases attacking him. Kinshasa ends it.

After the match; Bliss walks out on them, and then Blake ends up walking out on Murphy which is pretty hilarious considering what happens in their careers.

Backstage: Cathy Kelly asks Bayley about her thoughts on her match tonight, She says Nia likes to use her size to intimidate people, but you can't bully your way into getting what you want. She'll admit that she's tough, but what happened in London will happen tonight, and she can get back to her focus, becoming the NXT Women's Champion once again.

ASUKA~!

Backstage: Cathy Kelly interviews No Way Jose, stuff is said I hate this clown.

Earlier Today; Mella talks about Enzo's injuring himself and Cass getting that 1 of 2 main event matches on RAW. She then says she's here in NXT to win the woman's title. Well, duh.

Carmella vs. Peyton Royce
Solid stuff here, Peyton is the best she's looked so far really good suplexes and good on the control. Mella has a decent comeback, she's added a few new things to her standard comeback and applies the headsissors hold for the win. *3/4

Footage airs of Joe and Finn brawling after their match at a Portland house show.

A video airs of a Regal officiating a contract signing on Facebook Live between Joe and Finn. Regal announces that it's going to be a Steel Cage Match at Takeover. Joe says this time, Finn won't survive. Finn says Joe can say what he wants to say, but all this between them ends at Takeover and it ends with him becoming the first ever two-time NXT Champion. Joe leaves and says it's the biggest mistake of Balor's life.

Backstage: BBM are all arguing, Bliss calls them an embarrassment and says it now about her and it should be easy for her to now win the Woman's title without carrying them around.

Rob Rizin & Danny Burch vs. Tommaso Ciampa & Johnny Gargano
Burch finally has proper wrestling attire on not a wife beater and awful baggy pants. LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL! NXT chant Terra Rizin at Rob Rizin. Lengthy squash for team PWG. The knee and superkick combo ends it.

Backstage: GM Regal announce the Revival/American Alpha II at TakeOver :mark:

Bayley vs. Nia Jax
This isn't bad, but it's not on the level of the London match. They do the same formula with Bayley using holds trying to wear down Nia but she's has it scouted and too strong to go down in the early going. Nia has some good cutoffs, but she's not built or good enough to go 15 minutes yet, so her control gets a little repetitive and she does a bunch of standing around to fill time. Awesome bit of storytelling, Nia goes after the left arm the same hand that was almost pulled out of socket when Asuka had her in the crossface chicken wing. Bayley's selling of it is fine, but she sells more of the exhaustion and getting her ass kicked than he arm, which I'm not mad at. At least someone in this fed is selling this month. Bayley has an awesome big comeback, she's ditched the brawling and holds and has gone more to aerial moves and for the first time it works. She hits a 'rana to the floor and a crossbody in the ring for two. She avoids a Nia charge and she hits the ring post shoulder first. That allows Bayley to successfully lock in the front guillotine for the first time, but Nia has a counter and dumps Bayley off and it appears Bayley hurts her knee in the process. Nia then drops the leg on the bad knee, then to the back of the head and covers for the win. **1/2

NXT Episode 198
May 25th, 2016
Full Sail University: Orlando, Florida

GM Regal announces that after last week, Bayley is not fit to compete at Takeover, so tonight's main event will be Nia Jax vs. Carmella vs. Alexa Bliss, with the winner facing Asuka for the title at Takeover on June 8th (Which makes no sense, given Nia not only was the one that injured her but won the match too, so, technically she should be #1 Contender)

Johnny Gargano & Tommaso Ciampa vs. TM-61
Andrew's Aussie man crushes are here to contribute little to nothing in NXT for the next 2 years. This gets 10 minutes which is the most a tag match has gotten on TV this year, Good mat wrestling by all 4 guys to start, Gargano is throwing off with someone quicker and arguably smoother than him in transitions which allows the Aussies to isolate him. Lots of quick tags, and double teams. Ciampa gets the mid-match hot tag but it's not really a hot tag as TM61 cut it off almost immediately and fake Team PWG showing they are a real threat. Back from break, Gargano sneaks in the spear through the ropes to give his team control, they isolate Throne, Gargano applies a sweet pretzel like hold before Ciampa tags in and brutalizes him. Miller's hot tag is fine, it doesn't really light the match on fire or anything. The match breaks down and TM hit an assisted neckbreaker for two, Gargano comes back and whips Miller out with a dive. In the ring, Ciampa hits a killer knee and then hit the double team running knee/superkick combo for the win. **3/4

A Joe video package airs.

Backstage: Cathy Kelly is with Bayley, she asks how she's feeling now that she's no long #1 Contender. Bayley says it sucks, and it's the last thing she wants. She's fought to have her rematch, but Mr. Regal probably made the right call because she couldn't compete against Asuka at less than 100%. Nia Jax comes over and says to tell the truth. She broke her and she'll never be the fighter she once was and she'll never be the same again. Carmella comes and Nia says tonight's going to be so easy. Alexa Bliss comes in and tells her to say that to her face, and Nia says she's not worth it and leaves. Bliss says this is her moment, and Mella says she will remember that when she makes her tap.

Austin Aries comes down to the ring, he says THE BEST! one of the most overused phrases in wrestling, the problem with that is you're only the best until someone better comes along. That's why he uses the word great. Once you've proven your greatness, nobody can take it away. But how do you prove it? Is it by earning a rep over a decade of having undeniable talent in the ring? Or by winning champions all over the world? or by debuting a buzz in the hottest fed? I've done all of that, but he's realized that timing is everything, and by the time he walked through the door, there were other people that were grabbing all the attention. All of that is about to change, because after Joe and Finn settle their war it's only a matter of time before Austin Aries sits on the throne. Nakamura comes out now, he says OH, SORRY, SORRY! NXT CHAMPIONSHIP NOT COMING TO GREATNESS....COMING TO KING OF STRONG STYLE! Regal then comes out and books Aries/Nakamura at TakeOver.

Backstage: New Broad is with Alpha, Jordan says The Revival are the toughest team they've fought yet and they know what they get with them. Gable says they love to fight and they're good at it. But that's not a boxing ring, it's a wrestling ring, and they're the two best at it. Jordan says it doesn't matter where, Portland, London, Chicago, they'll prove it anywhere on the planet. Gable says to bring it to Takeover because they want it all. Ready, willing, and Gable.

Jonathan Ortagun vs. No Way Jose
NO WAY!

A Finn video package airs.

Backstage: Cathy interviews Asuka, she asks who she would like to face. Asuka says it doesn't matter who wins because she will beat them.

Next Week Graves sits down with both Joe and Finn before TakeOver & Aries vs. Elias.

Triple Threat #1 Contenders Match for the NXT Woman's Championship: Carmella vs. Alexa Bliss vs. Nia Jax
This really shouldn't be a match, and it really shouldn't have gotten 10 minutes. It's not bad, but they really could have just had Nia destroy them both in about 3 minutes making her look like a NEW unstoppable monster for Asuka. But can't change the past, Bliss bails early so we get some spunky Mella vs. Monster Nia, Mella tries to use the same game as her BFF but she's not nearly as good so Nia destroys her as Bliss looks on trying to pick an opening. They do a cool spot with Mella hitting a 'rana sending Nia to the floor and that allows Bliss to slide in and take advantage, she isolates and beats on Mella for a bit while knocking Nia off the apron leaving it 1on1. Bliss shows that the twisted Bliss might be able to beat Nia, as it took Mella breaking up the pin to stop the fall. Bliss and Mella team up so I dub them Team ABC for all of a minute until the double suplex fails and they fight it out again. Mella hits her coll little big match suicide dive spot, she hits her comeback sequence on Bliss and even locks in the headscissors hold but Nia slides back in to break it up, she pulls Bliss out and eventually hits the big legdrop for the win, brother-brother. **1/2

Asuka comes out to the stage to hold up the title, she then comes down to the ring and holds the title up right in Nia's face. Nia then says if she ever comes close to her again she will drop her where she stands.

NXT World Champion: Samoa Joe
NXT World Tag Team Champions: American Alpha
NXT Woman's Champion: Asuka

NXT Episode 199
June 1st, 2016
Full Sail University: Orlando, Florida

The Revival come out to open the show, Dash says at Takeover, they will take back their Tag Team Titles and become the first ever two-time NXT Tag Team Champions. Dawson says not to get it twisted, they have enough gusto and fortitude and DECENCY to admit Alpha are a great little amateur athletes, but this is the big time. They talk-heavy and hit hard, and come Takeover, that's what they're gonna do. Then maybe Jordan and Gable can use that towel to wipe their tears and watch them celebrate. Gargano and Ciampa the come out, Dawson asks if they're lost. Ciampa says their time at the top has come and gone. Everybody here already knows American Alpha is better than the Revival. They can't beat them, and they can't beat them, and they probably can't beat them either. Dawson says it's two generic bearded guys who think they're something special. Dash says they're just "good hands" and Ciampa asks if they mean them or themselves. Dawson says this renaissance is because of them, The Revival. He says to go back to the bingo hall and let the top guys handle top guy business. Ciampa asks like they took care of business in Dallas and Dash says at least they were champions. When they win ANYTHING, then they can come see them and maybe they'll talk. My kids leave and Gargano says for two top guys, they're leaving real fast. They turn around and come back in, but Team PWG dropkick them out.

Backstage: Cathy is with Nakamura, he says Austin with bow down to the king of strong style.

Tye Dillinger vs. Buddy Murphy
Pretty much a story match, Tye is a jobber so he jobs, and this is Murphy's first singles match since before the tag run so like a year ago. Buddy does a bunch of headlocks and basic tag heat stuff, he doesn't have much to maintain control for longer than a minute and that allows Tye to make a comeback and hit the Tye Breaker for the win.

TONIGHT: TEAM PWG VS. THE REVIVAL

Earlier Today: Graves sat down with Joe and Finn, he asks Finn what was going through his mind in Lowell when he looked up and saw Samoa Joe with the title that used to be his? Finn says it wasn't what he imagined, he had a fairytale ending in his head and that wasn't how he imagined his world would come crumbling down. Graves asks if he has any regrets accepting the title match considering the now outcome? Finn says NO! as champion it's your job to defend the title, he did it for 292 days and on that 1 day he was beaten. Graves then asks Joe how it felt winning the title? Joe says he finally accomplished what he came here to do and he got what he deserved. Finn talks about being a fighting champion but he went through so many hoops to get even a shot. Finn says he came here with a sense of entitlement but there's 100 guys training every day who deserved title shots more. Joe asks why he's sitting here champion then and says nobody's more deserving than him, and it's why he's the champion. Joe says it's entitlement when you're not champion, but he calls it confidence. Finn's never been able to handle that, that's WHY he had to jump through hoops. He backed him up in the Dusty Classic, but when he asked for a title shot, he stalled on him and let Regal take it away from him instead of fighting for him. Graves asks when this went south? Joe says Finn knew he could beat him, that's why he didn't fight for him. Joe says he's won gold everywhere and Finn says he traveled all over the world too and spent eight years in a dojo. Joe says this is revisionist history. Graves asks about their past TakeOver matches and tells Finn by his own words he barely survived. He then brings up Finn never being involved in a cage match before. Finn says he may be in a disadvantage, but the first time he was in a ladder match was against KO and he won. Joe says he knows he has an advantage. He's been in cage matches before, and says in Dallas, he got pulled off of Finn because he had a little bit of blood, and when he had a fair shot, he beat him in Lowell. Finn says he's not worried about any future without that title because it's everything right now. Joe laughs and says this is an opportunity to show certain people where their place is. Finn says he stabbed him in the back and Joe says he turned his back on him and ran away, that's the only place he could stab him, he would have been more than happy to stab him in the heart. And on that note Graves ends this. That was pretty dope, the feud has been really solid on rewatch.

Elias Samson vs. Austin Aries
Aries showcase, it's not really good. He's totally mailing it in and Elias isn't good enough to cover it up. Aries applies the Last Chancery for the win.

Aries grabs a mic and says he's proven it time and time again in this ring. Crowd chants for Nakamura instead :lmao He says he's the greatest in this ring and he'll shine the spotlight where it belongs, and it's on Austin Aries.

ANDRADE "CIEN" ALMAS IS COMING TO TAKEOVER~!

Johnny Gargano & Tommaso Ciampa vs. The Revival
Good initial first match, Dawson puts on a great bumping display early against the speed of Gargano and the physical style of Ciampa, he then uses Ciampa's momentum against him and tosses him tot he floor. He then distracts the ref and Gargano allowing Dash to clothesline Ciampa on the floor giving them control. They being targetting his knee and it rules, cause no one works a knee like my kids right now. It's not super long as this match isn't long at all at 8 minutes, but they do enough to make me want more. Even including the patent cut off spot of Dawson running around the ring and just as Ciampa is about to jump tag out Dawson catches him in mid-air and drives him back into his corner. Sadly, they can't follow up and Gargano gets the hot tag, but then they sacrifice a finishing run to do an abrupt shocking finish. Dawson hits a Superplex, but Gargano cradles him on landing for the win. **1/2

After the match; My kids attack them and beat them down until Alpha make the save and they have a mini-brawl with Alpha driving them off.

GM Regal is in the ring with Asuka and Nia Jax to sign the contract. Nia says Asuka hasn't done anything to impress her. She's kicked some girls in the head, so what? Asuka beat Bayley, but she BROKE! Bayley. She broke the heart and soul of NXT, just like she's going to break Asuka. She's never faced anyone like her because there's nobody like her. She is the future, and is not scared and signs the contract. Asuka says she talks too much and signs. Asuka shouts in Japanese for a moment and says if she's not scared of her, she should be. Nia piefaces her, so Asuka attacks but Nia powerbombs her to end the show. SHE'S NOT LIKE MOST GIRLS~!

NXT TakeOver: THE END OF THE BEGINNING
June 8th, 2016
Full Sail University: Orlando, Florida

FUCK YEAH! THEY BUST OUT THE "THE END IS HERE" PPV THEME

Andrade "Cien" Almas makes his debut and it's awful, he's wearing all this awful all white leather pants with suspenders and a white pimp hat. He looks like an extra in magic mike or the Mexican version Magic Miguel. He's also doing the generic happy go lucky smiling all the time babyface facial expressions, thankfully, the "EL IDOLO" theme also debuts.

Tye Dillinger vs. Andrade "Cien" Almas
Fun little 5 minute Almas showcase, he's flashy but clearly holding back at what he's capable of. Tye does his job and does it well, decent on offense and bump well for Almas when it's time. To Tye's credit, he hits a nasty superkick mid-match and has the crowd bite that he could maybe win, something I don't think CJ or Tyler really was able to do. Almas hits the running knees in the corner for the win. **

Tom plugs TripsGods post-takeover Facebook live show.

In the back, Nia is warming up for her match.

Revival/Alpha video package.

NXT World Tag Team Championships: The Revival vs. American Alpha
Awesome little bit, with it's usually Dawson that starts for the Revival but Gable suckers Dash into him to start, and he more than holds his own on the mat against Gable before we get the usual good Dawson/Gable mat exchange. Alpha control in the early going, my kids are so good at the little things, like Dawson blocks a knee by holding JJ's knee and sending him into his corner by the knee but Jordan has seen this before and rolls away, we get a fun all 4 getting into a brawl and Alpha bust out the stereo ankle locks for a nice pop. Alpha continues to dominate and has everything RV want to do scouted, it's like the old Stieners vs. Arn and Whoever match, where the athletes are so good that they can overcome the tricks and stunts. But after the 4th or 5th time the Revival finally find something that works, and that when Dawson hotshots Gable on to the top rope. Arm segment on Gable is good, but they do it where it never feels like the Revival ever have full control, with Gable having these awesome brief flurries but gets cut off. Also, pretty weird that Gable never sells the arm, AWESOME Minute run with Dawson clipping Gable's knee in mid-air when he tries the diving hot tag, he then cheapshots Jordan which distracts the ref allowing them to hit THE DEATH SENTENCE FOR TWO. Jordan's hot tag is so fucking great at this point, he wrecks the Revival for some near falls as the match breaks down, with both teams getting a series of near falls off double teams. RV try the doomsday, BUT GABLE CATCHES DAWSON IN MID-AIR AND TURNS IT INTO A BELLY-TO-BELLY FOR TWO. Jordan gets a 2nd hot tag, but Revival have Grand Amplitude scouted and Dawson pushes Gable outside and Dash backflips off of Jordon's shoulders, they hit a flash Shatter Machine for the win. Overall a better match than Dallas, but I can see why this doesn't get talked about as much as the crowd for the Dallas match was hot and the emotion of Alpha finally winning the belts was great. ***3/4

hDsGOSn.gif

After the Match; The Revival celebrate, as Alpha watch on.................BUT SUDDENLY, TWO MONSTER OF MEN ATTACK THEM FROM BEHIND! Paul Ellering is waiting for them by the entrance, blueberry Full Sail and Tom doesn't know who he is.

In the back, Asuka is warming up for her match when Bayley comes over and wishes her luck tonight.

Austin Aries vs. Shinsuke Nakamura
Aries has his ribs taped, Tom and Graves have no idea why. So yeah, decent feeling out and mat wrestling to start it's not the smoothest or cleanest, but I don't really look for that in these two. Plus it's not their strong suit, Nakamura targets the mid-section with knees to takeover, but then he drops it and to do Nakamura stuff, Aries then comes back with a knee breaker and kicks the knee 1 time before going to the neck and spine, it's so weird. IDK if they just don't have chemistry, or they think they're above NXT and the 400+ in the crowd, or they just don't care anymore. But they seem almost intent on not doing anything for 90% of the match, and giving this 17 minutes was a bad idea. Both segments feel super lackluster and time wasting, until the final few minutes where the pick up the striking and just start dumping one another on their heads to set up holds. The match ends when Aries misses the 450 and Nakamura hits the corner knee, but Aries counters the suplex they fight on the apron, with Aries hitting a DVD on the apron and goes for the countout win, but Aries sees Nakamura getting up and goes for the suicide dive but Nakamura avoids and Aries hits the rails face first. Back in Nakamura his Kinshasa for the win. Full Sail debuting the singing of Nakamura's music during the match to fuel a comeback was the only real highlight of this. **1/4

TakeOver Brooklyn II, Saturday, August 20th.

Asuka/Nia video package.

NXT Woman's Championship: Nia Jax vs. Asuka
This is a lot better than remembered considering what Nia was at the time, AWESOME OPENING! With Asuka toying with Nia and not taking her seriously until Nia grabs her by the hair and throws her halfway across the ring, and she does this awesome "doubt" facial expression, like woah okay maybe I can't do all the stuff i've been able to get away with. Nia has some good power moves and bully holds, and she seems to be 1 step ahead. dope spot with Asuka going for the front guillotine but Nia is so much experienced since the London match that she counters it into a vertical suplex. She also has all of Asuka little holds scouted, so the armbar, triangle choke, kneebar all fail and Asuka also doesn't get Nia off her feet completely, mostly down to her knees Nia looks unstoppable. Until a dropkick off the top takes her down and Asuka goes to her strikes to break Nia down. Nia counters a kick into a nasty powerbomb, but makes the mistake of not following up which allows Asuka to lock in an armbar, she then goes for the Asuka Lock but Nia is too big so Asuka breaks her down with some nasty kicks and finishes her off with a running football kick for the win. Dope stuff, and it would only get better in 2018. **3/4

Earlier Today: New broad interviewed GM Regal, he hypes up the main event.........................BUT BOBBY ROODE WALKS PAST!

Video package for the Main Event airs.

Neville is in the crowd.

Finn has a black/white venom adjace paint scheme, he also gets a cage mesh prop for him to knock down and crawl over during his entrance.

Steel Cage Match for the NXT World Championship: "The Demon" Finn Bálor vs. Samoa Joe
I really despise cage matches now, not because they've been done to death like ladder matches. It's because they no longer have that big cage feel, hate or even blood. This also hinders what made these matches enjoyable, and that was Joe beating the shit out of Finn on the floor, and Finn hitting desperation dives. With the cage it just hinders everything, plus how many times can you throw someone into a cage and not see blood. I also fucked up and watches Magnum/Tully the night before, sidenote, why isn't that match, talked about much as an all-time great? but that's a convo for a different time. Crowd does the this is awesome during the staredown, morons I'm so glad this is the END for them. This is the weakest of the 3 matches, it's mostly built around them trying to escape, more than punishing the other. So the big moves are just to set-up someone trying to leave, Joe is slow and methodical on offense pretty much the same stuff he's been doing, no sense of desperation of hate. And Finn has really contributed nothing in this feud, as much as I've enjoyed it you could've inserted anyone as babyface champion, it's always been about Joe. I lowkey find it hilarious that they both do the "OMG Shocked" you kicked out of my finisher expression, considering they did it at both TakeOver matches. The match ends when Finn goes for the Austin/Bret corner spot but Joe lets go and Finn hits the double stomp, he then climbs to the top but Joe catches him up top and HITS A MEDIUM SIZED MUSCLE BUSTER FOR THE WIN (cause it was off the middle rope) Joe is the first man to beat the Demon, but that'll never get brought up again. **1/4

BEX8PuD.gif

Finn is out after the match and is being looked at by the EMT's as Joe stares him down as his EVIL boss music plays, it's like when you fail in a boss in a mission and he just stands over you before the "restart" message appears :lmao

Fittingly this is the worse TakeOver show, and it marks the END of Full Sail TakeOvers :mark: But it also means the end of Wednesday TakeOvers :( and the shows being 2 hours long :(

Running theme of this thread "the match was better than I remember" and we wonder why the same performers can't do the same on the main roster.....and people here shat all over my surmise that it was because they have months to practice one match at the PC while the main roster have to come up with a match in a few hours.

NXT Episode 200
June 15th, 2016
Full Sail University: Orlando, Florida

TakeOver highlights air, THE END IS HEEERRREEEEE!

Mike Cuellari & Casey Maron vs. The Authors of Pain (w/Paul Ellering)
SQUASH! Russian Legsweep/Lariat combo ends it.

Backstage: Cathy is with Andrade Almas, she asks what we can expect from him and he begins talking in Spanish. Until Tye comes over and calls his win a fluke. Tye tells him not to blow it out of proportion and he wants a rematch, and Almas accepts tonight.

Backstage: New Broad tries to interview A.o.P but they walk past her.

Carmella vs. Tessa Blanchard
Oh, goodie, Tessa is still here, boy WWE dropped the ball on her. But with that being said IDK if should would have stayed she would have turned into my favorite wrestler to watch in 2018. This is a fun little spotty match, Mella plays the more experienced vet but gets too cocky and the younger girls takes over with a hair slam, she locks in a brief ab stretch that really goes nowhere before a Mella comeback. She then applies the now named code of silence for the win. *3/4

Exclusive post-match promo, Joe asks what you're willing to sacrifice for the NXT Championship. He destroyed his brother, hunted a demon around the world, and he took this from him. Tonight he ended all questions tonight about who the undisputed NXT Champion of the world is. Tonight marked the end of those questions, but it marked the beginning of his era. He is Samoa Joe, he is the NXT Champion, and you do not have enough to sacrifice to take this from him.

Backstage: Cathy is with Blake and Murphy, she asks if they've resolved their issues. Murphy says they had no issues until..........Blake cuts him off and blames Bliss for all of this, they agree. Murphy says it's time to reclaim what's rightfully theirs, and it starts tonight with dem Aussie boyz.

TM61 vs. Blake & Murphy
Standard TV tag match, but again it's mostly about furthering the B&M stuff than it is about the match. TM has some solid tag double teams but they don't stand out, hints why they keep getting passed over by every tag team starting now really. Blake accidentally takes off Buddy's head with a clothesline and then they hit Blake with the Thunder Valley for the win. *1/2

Exclusive post-match promo, Dash says this is what they said was going to happen. Dawson says they win as a unit. No team here can make it down their block and now they're the first two-time NXT Tag Team Champions. They talk-heavy, they hit hard, and they're the brand new champions. CLINK ME, JACK!

Recap of the Bayley/Nia match from May 18th.

Backstage: New broad asks Bayley for a medical update, Bayley says she has an appointment later this week, and Mr. Regal said if everything goes well he will clear her to return.

Tye Dillinger vs. Andrade "Cien" Almas
This gets a little over 8 minutes, and again is really solid it's along the same lines of the TakeOver match where everything is solid and nothing felt wasted. Almas is super flashy and really good, but of course, the gimmick isn't over and the fans are so simple minded they would rather chant 10 than Cien which means 100. Tye takes over with a backbreaker just like at TakeOver, but now he's super mean and has some good looking crossfaces to the face before raking at the facial features. But that's the only highlight before Almas makes a comeback and hits the double knees in the corner to win. **1/4

Finn comes down to the ring, and the fans all begin sucking his dick like he's been "THE GUY" Finn says where does he start, the very first time he watched NXT was when he was sitting at home and say Enzo/Cass and he said to himself he wants to be a part of that. And when he got here and wanted to be apart of him, NXT became apart of him. He went to wars here, wars with Neville, Breeze, Owens, and Joe and here he stands not the champion. The question is what is next? He asks it again, and the losers begin a "Balor Club" chant. THE LIGHTS GO OUT AND NAKAMURA'S MUSIC HITS! And he makes his way out, Nakamura says he wants some, if Finn wants some. He watched him while he was still in Japan, and saw Finn become an icon in NXT :lmao:lmao:lmao he knows he's no longer champ, but still an icon and he knows if he wants to be champion, he has to beat the icon. He then challenges Finn to a match and Finn accepts.

FUCKING LOSERS CHANT MATCH OF THE YEAR :TI:

Running theme of this thread "the match was better than I remember" and we wonder why the same performers can't do the same on the main roster.....and people here shat all over my surmise that it was because they have months to practice one match at the PC while the main roster have to come up with a match in a few hours.
I wouldn't go that far, as now the main roster have all the house show loops to put together and try out new stuff, plus the countless times it happens on TV now. I will agree, having practiced matches for the woman help a ton. Just look at Bayley/Mella, or Eva/Bayley. So it has its benefits.

Doesn't hurt having an entire class of indie guys giving you ideas and a coaching staff that lays out your entire match.

NXT Woman's Champion: Asuka

NXT Episode 201
June 22nd, 2016
Full Sail University: Orlando, Florida

Oney Lorcan vs. Tye Dillinger
Weird match, Kayfabe wise they play is off as Oney is like miles better than Tye like it's pretty much a Oney showcase/squash as he kicks Tye's ass for 90% of this. Tye takes over but he doesn't really do anything, outside his nasty superkick near fall, Oney then avoids the Tye Breaker and hits a running flipping neck breaker for the upset win. FUCK YEAH! **1/4

Post-Match; Graves turns on Tye and calls him a 5 at best.

Backstage: Cathy Kelly interviews Austin Aries, she asks after his loss where he goes from here. He says the goal remains unchanged, to prove his greatness and become the NXT Champion. You don't attain or lose it in one match. Muhammed Ali didn't win every match. Despite being less than 100% at Takeover, no excuses, Nakamura beat him. The chip on his shoulder is bigger now and that's why every person here needs to understand one thing..............BUT, No Way Jose comes over and says it hurts seeing him down in the dumps and he'd love to teach him how to stay positive. And when life tells you no, you say no way, and he leaves as Aries looks confused and mad.

Earlier Today; Bayley has been cleared and will wrestler tonight.

Josh Woods vs. No Way Jose
Shitty No way squash.

After the match; Austin Aries comes out and gets BOOOOOOO'ed & the "Aries Sucks" chants, which is pretty amazing seeing how he's only been here for like 2 months. Austin says in this industry you're not defined by your victories but by your defeats. At Takeover, while he wasn't 100%, he was defeated. A real man doesn't make excuses, and that defeat to Nakamura has been weighing on him and Jose saw that. He's asked what he could possibly learn from No Way Jose and he watched him and realized he can learn from him. He reminded him of something he maybe forgot, and that's-that NXT and this business is about having fun. He thanks Jose for reminding him of who he needs to be, they shake hands and Aries goes to leave but No Way calls him back and they begin dancing. They dance on the announce table AND ARIES ELBOWS HIM OFF THE ANNOUNCE TABLE. FUCK YEAH! He beats the shit out of No way and applies the Last Chancery on the ramp. Aries the asshole >, and right on queue, the fans start an "Austin Aries" chant, fucking simpletons.

Earlier Today; GM Regal is having a meeting with Nakamura, he announces Nakamura vs. Balor in 3 weeks. Buddy Murphy comes over and says he deserves more, and to be treated like a star. Nakamura and says his request will be honored tonight by King of Strong Style, mate. He leaves and Regal says to be careful what he wishes for.

Deonna Purrazzo vs. Bayley
Story match, with Bayley coming off an injury so she's a bit rusty and DP gets the most offense in a match she's had her entire run so far. But she can't put the face of NXT away, and Bayley makes a comeback before hitting the Bayley-to-belly for the win. *1/2

Backstage: New broad is with Carmella, Mella says all the woman are killing it and wants to become not only the face of NXT but to be NXT Women's Champion. Bliss comes on and says that's adorable. Carmella says she's jealous and Alexa said she made her team and dumped them, and Carmella was just an accessory. Alexa says she didn't get beat in that triple threat like Carmella did. Carmella says she's next in line and dares Alexa to do something about it.

Hype video on the champ airs.

Recap of Asuka/Nia airs.

A.o.P video package airs.

American Alpha return next week.

Nia Jax vs. Liv Morgan
Tom coins the phrase "you only liv once" Nia destroys her and ends it with a powerbomb.

Buddy Murphy vs. Shinsuke Nakamura
Another one of those really bad TV Nakamura squash matches, I can't wait to start watching 205 once Enzo leaves so I can watch the growth of Buddy and watch him pass Nakamura as a better wrestler. Kinshasa ends it.

NXT Episode 202
June 29th, 2016
Full Sail University: Orlando, Florida

Alexa Bliss vs. Carmella
This gets pretty close to 10 minutes, they have a super rushed fasted paced feeling out process with neither girl connecting with anything, tons of counters, and one up-womanship. Mella goes to the vintage side-headlock control but Bliss neck snaps her onto the apron and begins yanking her arm through the ropes with her head bouncing off the ropes, super creative. She works the arm, as it's been her thing this year. But Mella decides not to sell, I guess she missed that class. Mella's comeback is fine and they move right into the finish of Bliss hitting a chokeslam/sto followed by twisted bliss for the win. **

Earlier Today; Nakamura says he's known Finn Balor over 10 years. They traveled together a lot in Japan. They know each other's families, great friends. When he came to NXT, he supported him and watched from Japan. He became a champion and the NXT Icon, lol, but now he's here and wants to be something like him. Not the same, but something. For example, the title. He wants to face one of the best, so before becoming champion, he has to fight these icons. He's going to give everyone something sensational.

Backstage: Cathy interviews Bayley, she asks how it feels to be back. Bayley says it felt great and she wants another shot for her title. Bliss comes over and says Bayley blew it and doesn't deserve it, she just destroyed her best friend and if she wants another shot she has to go through her.

Noah Potjes vs. Andrade "Cien" Almas
Pretty solid squash for El Idolo, running double knees ends it. Only a couple of months before Idolo finds himself :(

Backstage: New broad talks with Austin Aries, she asks WHY? He says from the moment he walked in here these self-entitled privileged fans should have been overjoyed to have him on NXT. Meanwhile, this dancing man hasn't accomplished a fraction of what he has, but he does a dance and moves his hips and the crowd goes crazy. He doesn't suck, they suck. If they don't want to like Austin Aries, he'll give them something not to like. He is who he is, and what he does from now on is on them.

Earlier today; Finn says he went to Japan at 24 and didn't know anyone and Shinsuke was one of the first to help him adapt and to help show him the way. You meet a lot of people in this business, you make a lot of work friends, but Shinsuke is a real friend, then he came to NXT almost two years and thought he wouldn't see Shinsuke as much, maybe a few times a year, but he was so happy to find out that Shinsuke was coming here. He wanted to return the favor for how much Shinsuke helped him adapt to Japan. And now we're at this crossroads. They've faced each other before but a lot's changed, and the fans are in for a real treat.

The Hype Bros vs. Johnny Gargano & Tommaso Ciampa
Good face vs. face match, it's not a traditional tag match as both teams an equal amount of control. PWG isolates Ryder, while the Bros isolate Gargano. I can't believe I'm saying this but MoJo ruled, as he uses his power and just destroys the indy guys with awesome power moves. Gargano bumps his ass off for him, which for 6.9 seconds made me want a 1on1 match. With both teams being faces no one gets the hot tag and the just skip to shit breaking down, the Bros go for the Hype Ryder but Gargano pulls MoJo out of the ring and drops him with a superkick, that allows them to hit Ryder with the running knee/superkick combo for the win. **3/4

After the match; Gargano grabs a mic and says a few weeks ago, they beat the new Tag Team Champions, The Revival. If he looks at the numbers, he thinks that puts them in line for a title shot. American Alpha come out to the ring and get the microphones. Gable says no offense, but they're not next in line for anything. Gable says they lost their titles and if they get a shot, it'll be against them BECAUSE THEY'RE WINNING THEM BACK! JJ says you better believe they're getting their revenge against A.o.P. But first things first, it's time to remind The Revival who the alphas of NXT. THE CHAMPS COME OUT NOW. Dawson says this is real flattering, but he has to stop them. TOP GUY SECRET. They drive the car right now, they man the ship, they call the shots. And neither of them should get what they want. Dash says "Gorgonzola, Chimpy" whatever they're calling themselves :lmao:lmao:lmao they told them that they're only good hands and they've done nothing to deserve a shot. Alpha no longer run the division, they're betas at best. We're the A team and they dictate terms. GM Regal now comes out and says HE dictates the terms and says Tommaso and Johnny are in line for a championship match, but he books Revival vs. American Alpha first, and it will be next week in BEST TWO OUT OF THREE FALLS! My kids leave upset, as team PWG and Alpha shake and PWG leave. A.o.P then come through the crowd and attack Alpha again, PWG then tries to make the save but they get laid out too. They then hit their finishers on Alpha to end the show.

Two years ago it the the World title carrying the show, last year it was the woman. And now its the tag division :mark:
