Don't worry, his removal from the page is just due to the storyline "firing" after the Lockdown match. I don't have the news item handy where it mentions that, but I did read it from multiple sources. Besides, he just re-signed with TNA recently. I think he's just moving into a behind the scenes role.

I know TNA didn't let him go, I just don't want to lose him as an onscreen character. Easy E > HH, Sting, Dixie

Now slow down, Brando, no need to drag Sting into this! Sting ain't never do anything do! I would actually like to see a division of powers between Eric B and Sting and see how that plays out with them being co-GM's.

No thanks. I thought Sting was atrocious as the "insane" babyface GM. Although HH is worse, granted.

I loved Sting as GM and Sting/Bisch as Co-Gms would be good I think. I mean Austin and Eric was awesome while it lasted.

I didn't prefer him at first either, tbh. His whole thing with bringing the crow to Bischoff's office was terrible, but I think in the month or two that lead into his match with Roode was brilliant, and he was really beginning to suit the role. I'd like to see the same Sting we saw who prophecizing about the formation of Immortal come into the picture again, personally. When he was beating the shit out of Hogan and Double J and stuff, if anyone remembers.

I remember quite well. It was apart of a year long build to "Immortal", it was great. I loved seeing what we thought was a "heel" Sting go off on everyone. He murdered RVD on his debut, it was awesome. I'd love to see that Sting again too.

TNA has too much roster for the time they have on the air... the rope will break one way or the other... most of the time it will mean the release of a wrestler that has not been used recently or haven't been used at all.

But Nese is an X Division wrestler and a damn good one. I was dying to see him vs Aries one on one.

Jesus, post the whole story instead of just one line.

TNA X-Division star Anthony Nese has been released by the company effective today.
Nese, who's been one of the best talents in the Northeast for some time, was signed in December 2011 during the time period where the company began beefing up their X-Division with new names.

The release came when Nese was booked to headline the Pro Wrestling Syndicate iPPV in Rahway, NJ on 6/1, teaming with Sami Callihan against The Great Muta and Kai.

Nese, who TNA had not used in months, contacted TNA to let them know he wanted to have the chance to work with Muta and asked for permission to do the iPPV. During the conversation, TNA told Nese he contractually could not work the iPPV.

Nese was then offered his release, which he accepted.

Also, I have it on good authority that he wasn't offered his release, he outright asked for it and I can't blame him at all. He wasn't being used at all in TNA and the chance to wrestle with Sami against Muta and Kai is too good to pass up. I can't wait for that match, but I also agree with Brandon that he'll probably be back one day, so there's no reason to get all upset about it.
