TNA today announced Olympic Gold Medalist and TNA Hall-of-Fame member Kurt Angle has signed a new contract to remain an active TNA roster member. Kurt can be seen on IMPACT WRESTLING’s new home, Destination America, during a special LIVE event from New York City on Wednesday January 7 at 9/8c.

“Kurt Angle’s arrival nearly a decade ago put TNA on the map. Now Kurt leads a fresh, young IMPACT WRESTLING locker room into a whole new era on Destination America,†said TNA President Dixie Carter. “Once Kurt steps inside those ropes there is no greater talent in professional wrestling.â€

“I’m extremely excited to remain with TNA Wrestling,†said Angle. “The driving force behind my signing is the honesty, great communication and positive changes being made by Dixie Carter and John Gaburick. Things are moving upward and forward at TNA, and 2015 will be a great one for all of us at IMPACT WRESTLING.â€

He's got it pretty good at TNA.

He's a legend there, he's well respected, TNA helped him a lot during his dark stages and supported him through everything.

With all that being said, I think he would have gone back to WWE in a heartbeat if they'd made the offer, so I agree with Swamps that they just didn't want him there.

Yeah, Angle wasn't exactly secretive about wanting to go back to WWE>

Apparently wwe offered him a full time contract but he knew his body couldn't take it so he stayed in TNA.

Hadn't heard that anywhere. Do you have a source on the story?

Angle did say in a radio interview that he only wanted to work a part time schedule, I am not sure if WWE would want to give him that.

Angle mentioned that the next place he signed would be his last, and that the deal would be for one year. It is said that the deal is one year, but that cannot be confirmed. Kurt told the world that he spoke with WWE about a return, but they wanted him to work a full-time schedule.

It's a shame they never offered the man a part-time deal, like Lesnar.
