Guess the wrestler via Wikipedia article

Discussion in 'Wrestling Games' started by Champagne Charlie, Nov 20, 2014.

  1. Just a game I thought would be fun to play. The way this works is I will post a small extract of a wrestler's wikipedia page (removing all mentions of their name and replacing them with ???) and you have to guess who it is. Whoever gets it right, goes next and so on. I'll start with an easy one.

"He was drafted to the Raw brand as part of the 2009 WWE Draft, and won the WWE United States Championship. In July 2010, he won the Raw Money in the Bank ladder match at the first WWE Money in the Bank pay-per-view, earning a contract for a WWE Championship match, which he used in November to win the WWE Championship, which he held for six months."

    The Miz.

"Throughout the 1960s, he continued to serve among the sport’s most sought-after box office attractions, as his presence usually ensured sell-outs and record gate receipts for industry promoters. Being the only man to lift him off his feet contributed to the career and legend of Bruno Sammartino. Although mainly active in the eastern half of the United States, he also wrestled in Australia, on tour with other American wrestlers in bouts promoted by U.S. promoter Sam Menacker. He also wrestled for NWA: All-Star Wrestling in Vancouver, where he twice won the NWA Canadian Tag Team title."

"Following his debut, he remained a pivotal component of the company's Attitude Era of the late 1990s and early 2000s, defeating Stone Cold Steve Austin – described as the "poster boy" of that era – for the WWF Championship in his first pay-per-view main event at King of the Ring 1998. He has continued to headline WWE pay-per-view cards in world championship matches through 2014."
  4. That's gotta be Kane.

"Soon after his release, ??? was announced to wrestle at Absolute Intense Wrestling's Absolution VIII in his hometown, Cleveland, Ohio under his real name. He made his debut for the promotion on June 30, when he defeated Tim Donst. He also worked for Florida Underground Wrestling in May 2013."

"In May 1988, he left the WWF after feuds with Frenchy Martin and Killer Khan. He also made one appearance on the interview segment The Snake Pit with Jake "The Snake" Roberts. He stated in an interview that the WWF had planned to have him win the WWF Tag Team Championship with Hillbilly Jim, but the plans were cancelled for reasons that were never made clear to him."

"On the June 5, 2006 episode of Raw, ??? inadvertently knocked Lilian Garcia off the ring apron as he was entering the ring.It was announced on WWE's official website that as a result, Garcia suffered a sprained wrist. As a result of the legitimate accident, ??? began a feud with Garcia's onetime storyline love interest Viscera. ??? made advances towards Garcia, at one point forcefully kissing her and then dropping her to the ground."
  7. Charlie Haas.

"He appeared regularly on ECW as a jobber throughout the end of 2007 and the start of 2008, losing to wrestlers such as Kevin Thorn, CM Punk, Shelton Benjaminand others. After a period of inactivity, he returned on the July 22, 2008 edition of ECW, losing to Evan Bourne. He wrestled his final WWE match on the August 5 edition of ECW in a losing effort to Braden Walker"

No clue on this one. Thought it might have been Colin Delaney but I think he wrestled after 2008.
  9. Nope, i'll add a different excerpt too to make it much easier.

The following week, Stevens and ??? defeated WWE Tag Team Champions Paul London and Brian Kendrick in a non-title match. On the August 18 edition of SmackDown, Stevens and James ambushed the Tag Team Champions.
