XII is a one match card admittedly, but that honestly makes it one of the funner 'Manias to rewatch. Backlot Brawl was fucking hilarious and makes up for the weak undercard through but they rushed through those matches that wouldn't have been good anyway to get to the Iron Man match which is still a lot of fun for the most part even if I hate the gimmick. Basically just rating this 'Mania on the Iron Man match itself since it was almost half the show so that probably overrates it in my head, but XIV also blew so yeah.

Unpopular opinion but the Backlot Brawl and Taker/Diesel are the best matches at 12. I love the Bret-Shawn build but the match itself was a bit of a bore. 14's more consistent top to bottom.

Why do you have to torture me with an actual close contest? I do love me some Iron Man and Diesel did have a good final Mania match with Taker, but there's something about Steve Austin taking his rightful place on the mantle, DX Band playing HBK out, Hart and Triple H, Outlaws getting dumped into dumpsters by Funk and Cactus. What's not to love?

14 had a way better build than actual event tbh. HHH/Owen was fine but should have been better, mixed tag match was better than expected, dumpster match was fun and main event was good for Michaels being injured but Kane/Taker blew, that opening tag thing was a mess and a half, Rock/Shamrock was a joke

Bro Kane and Taker have like never had a single good match against each other. The feud was nice but not in-ring

Very surprised by this result bc 12 is up there for me, but that's the magic of tournaments I guess. 14 moves on in the closest match of this round.
