- Wade Barrett, leader of RAW’s Nexus stable, has been pulled from WWE TV and live events because his work visa has expired and he’s no longer eligible to work in the United States. Barrett has returned to the UK where he’s waiting on a new visa to be cleared.

Drew McIntyre is going through the same problems. You may remember from SmackDown where WWE started a storyline saying Drew was being deported. This isn’t far from real life but it’s possible that McIntyre is still here in the States. Regardless, he’s also unable to work right now. If McIntyre is still here, it’s possible that he can stay while a green card application is approved since he’s married to WWE Diva Tiffany.

There’s no timetable yet on when Barrett or McIntyre can return.

I can't believe that this can actually happen. Surely these guys would have their paperwork in order when working for someone like WWE and the same goes for WWE, surely they would ensure that their foreign stars have the right paperwork.

This really hurts the NXT angle since Barrett was by far the best member of that group and he was a legitimate leader. No-one else seems ready to step up and take that responsibility and be seen by fans as the leader of the group.

For McIntyre this is a blessing in disguise, he hadn't been able to get over as much as he should be. He needs that time away from our tv screens since he has been used too much in recent months.

I hope this is sorted out ASAP by WWE and the wrestlers and hopefully nothing like this happens again.

Didn't the same thing happen to William Regal a few months back? It's stupid how the WWE will rush someone to TV and hype them when they clearly have to be deported in a few months or something. No doubt both will stay in the USA because they are major TV stars but you never know both could be gone.

I don't remember anything about Regal but it may have happened. You would think that WWE would take care of something like this to keep it all in order, they have administration staff to do things like this. Maybe the paperwork was just held up for some reason or misplaced. The problem is with the job they have, on tv every week, they can't over stay as it will be easy for them to prove they broke the law. Hopefully WWE being a big company can fix this within a couple of weeks so that the NXT storyline isn't completely ruined.

NXT angle needs Barrett so hopefully they resolve this soon. With that said McIntyre could benefit like the Rock did when he got injured and returned with a new character and lease on life.

The NXT angle is pretty much finished without Barrett to lead them and to get the PPV title shot. How long do Visa's take to get sorted though?

McIntyre certainly needs a new character or at least a charisma boost because he is too bland currently and this break was needed for him.

Another update:

The work visa issues for both Wade Barrett and Drew McIntyre have been resolved. McIntyre won’t return to TV until they feel the time is right since they did the deportation storyline on SmackDown. As noted before, Barrett is expected to be on this coming Monday’s RAW.

Well that was quick. Being a huge company will no doubt have helped WWE clear these Visas quicker than most.

Good idea to keep McIntyre off television, firstly for the storyline reason but also because he was being over-used and he needed to get off our screens for a few weeks. Great news that Barrett is back already, it means he would have just missed this week which they explained well enough in the storyline.

It's good to see that they both can stay in the USA and wrestle and it's a good call to keep McIntyre out until it seems right. Its not only storyline purposes its also good for him health wise because he can have a few weeks resting and such. To have Barrett come back is a good thing because the NXTangle seems to be getting interesting and loosing a part of that would ruin it.
