By order of SmackDown LIVE General Manager Daniel Bryan, AJ Styles must fight the proverbial battle before the war when he defends the WWE World Championship in a highly-anticipated rematch against former titleholder Dean Ambrose tonight.

Styles won SmackDown LIVE’s greatest prize in controversial fashion at WWE Backlash, hitting The Lunatic Fringe with a low blow when the referee was indisposed. However, after Ambrose pinned John Cena on SmackDown LIVE last week, Bryan decided it was time to award him his promised one-on-one rematch.

No Mercy’s Triple Threat WWE World Title Match between Styles, Ambrose and Cena is less than two weeks away, but who will be the champion when they get there? Find out tonight on SmackDown LIVE, with SmackDown LIVE Pre-Show beginning at 7:30/6:30 C across all digital platforms.

To say that the SmackDown LIVE’s Women’s division is on fire would be an understatement. Last week, the WWE Universe watched as Alexa Bliss literally turned the tables on SmackDown Women’s Champion Becky Lynch during their No Mercy Contract Signing, only to suffer an Irish Lass Kicking for her efforts. On the same night, Carmella was so anxious to once again get her hands on Nikki Bella that she snatched her target away from her own partner’s Sharpshooter.

There’s no doubt that Alexa will do whatever it takes to gain momentum en route to her pay-per-view title opportunity. It will be interesting to see if “Becky Balboa” has what it takes to withstand her relentless assault. And when you consider that Nikki Bella has never been one to let stand any aggression toward her, The Princess of Staten Island had better watch her back.

Like him or hate him (and you probably hate him), there’s no denying that The Miz is a successful Intercontinental Champion, a fact that he once again demonstrated last week when he defended his illustrious title against Dolph Ziggler. Then again, perhaps he should be considered co-champion, thanks to both his wife Maryse and the unknown substance that once again got sprayed in The Showoff’s eyes to help facilitate the three-count.

Find out if The A-Lister’s victory will help finally give him the praise he desires on Team Blue, or if his latest actions will only move him further away from respectability. And after being left speechless by his heart-breaking loss, will Ziggler be able to bounce back again?

Taking advantage of a returning Chad Gable’s leg injury, The Usos stole a win away from American Alpha last week to become the No. 1 contenders to SmackDown Tag Team Champions Heath Slater & Rhyno.

Considering their ruthless new attitude, will Jimmy and Jey Uso look to send the titleholders a painful message en route to No Mercy? Do Slater & Rhyno stand a chance against an Uso tandem that hasn’t already faced another team prior to the match (as they did at Backlash)? Might American Alpha return to Team Blue looking for payback against the Samoan warriors? Will Rhyno enjoy more string cheese?
