In an update on his official blog (via Purolove.com’s STRIGGA on Twitter), Katsuyori Shibata gave an update on his health. He was injured on April 9 at NJPW’s Sakura Genesis when he hit Okada with a headbutt, causing Shibata to bleed from his forehead. He was diagnosed at the hospital with a subdural hematoma and had successful surgery and months of rehab.
Shibata said he can’t “fix” himself as quickly as he thought, so he’s trying to balance his treatment to do so. He mentions how changes in air pressure, temperature and humidity due to the season and being in crowded areas have made it hard for him. He said he’s not doing “shock therapy” (electrotherapy) anymore.
I get all the love and the passion for the stuff, I get strong style tradition but wrestling shouldn't be this stiff. That is just stupid. Just retire man, it's not more important than your life.
