Billy Corgan sat down with ESPN Radio’s Dan Le Batard Show this morning to discuss the current state of Total Nonstop Action, otherwise known as Impact Wrestling. Corgan commented on the current TNA situation, claiming it’s complicated due to the current state of professional wrestling. He noted that it’s harder for wrestling promotions to make the same ad revenue as similarly-rated shows, or even shows with lower ratings in different categories.

Corgan admitted that Vince McMahon and WWE are in fact in negotiations with TNA, but as of now, nothing has been finalized. Corgan notes that should a deal come to pass, he’d be among the first to know as he has a stake in the company. Corgan then went on to explain his professional wrestling philosophy, and noted that Vince McMahon and WWE are the only ones who seem to have a “winning philosophy.” He says that, should he gain control of the company, he’d lead things in a different direction, however that’s easier said than done. As of now, several people own a stake in the promotion, and everyone has a different vision for where the company should be going.

As previously noted, if TNA is unable to secure funding by Friday afternoon, this Sunday’s Bound for Glory and subsequent television tapings could be in jeopardy. We’ll keep you updated with the latest information as if becomes available.

TNA Cancels Flights And Matches For Next Week's Impact Tapings

"It's no secret that TNA is potentially facing their end times as they go into Bound For Glory weekend with the company sale up in the air and a need for funds to cover the pay-per-view as well as next week's Impact Wrestling tapings.

A veteran TNA talent told me today that everyone is very nervous about the impending sale. Many TNA talents are used to the uncertainty but it sounds like this is a new level of conc...ern backstage.

Furthermore, some wrestlers who were booked for the Impact tapings next week have had their flights and matches canceled. The TNA talent I spoke with wasn't even sure if he will be on the Bound For Glory card as the company is really looking to save as much money as possible.

While it is possible that Bound For Glory doesn't happen exactly as planned, Billy Corgan and other officials remain optimistic that a deal will be made before Sunday."

Backstage Update on the Sale of #TNA -- Reason why investors are turning it down

Billy Corgan is a front runner in purchasing the company, however the company needs funds by Friday to keep afloat, and not months from now when a deal with Corgan would be finalized.

One of the problems with keeping the promotion going has a lot to do with previous debt. It’s being said that TNA owes millions, more then what the company would even sell for. Even If Corgan ends up getting the com...pany, he plans to restructure it and even re-name the brand he will have to pay its past fees from aurolux.

Dixie is free to sell the company whoever she wants to, as she owns 70% of the company. It should be a very interesting week for TNA as they have a PPV and Tour coming up.

Either Corgan should get the company to give it a go (not saying he would do anything with it of course, it takes more than just being a fan), or I think TNA needs to die finally. If WWE didn't anything with WCW I don't see them doing much more with TNA. Am surprised that Vince is even interested really. If it was ten years ago I could see it more.
