What are some opinions you have that may be considered unpopular by the majority of the IWC or today's fans?

Re: Unpopular Wrestling Opinions Redux

I think TNA should do away with Hogan, Sting, Angle, Steiner, etc. that were once WCW and WWE guys, and focus solely on their homegrown talent. Many people argue that the big names bring the fans interest into the product, but I call bullshit. If you rely solely on the "glory days" wrestlers then the talent that is out there busting their ass for a spot will be shunned to the point of fading into obscurity. Bringing in the older guys does nothing for the future of the business, unless these guys will sell for the younger talent and not just look for an easy payday and call their own shots.

While I disagree on general principal, I concede you make some valid points. The one I have to call you out for though is Kurt Angle. The man is one of the best workers in the business today and they'd be fools not to book him.

I'll give you Angle, I can still see that, might of gotten carried away there. However, wasting money to keep guys like Steiner on the payroll is a waste. I get upset when companies rely on the previous generation of wrestlers to boost their own product. Sure, it's good for the short term, but the long term ramifications have to be taken into consideration. Take Rock for example, it's awesome that he will probably pass the torch to Cena on the 10th anniversary of Hogan passing the torch to him, but it's still ridiculous that he is main eventing the pay per view when there are extremely talented guys that could have gotten pushed just a little harder in order to sell the event. Also, Survivor Series was predicated solely on Rock coming back to action, but after the pay per view I felt robbed of that experience because he didn't really do a whole lot of selling for me to believe that the match wouldn't go in his team's favor.

I'm kinda of a mark for the older generation myself so I don't exactly feel as you do concerning all former talent. But I will gladly agree with you about the Rock. What's absolutely worst is he left seven years ago and never looked back. So you bring him back in and push guys aside who've busted their ass all these years? And I feel the same way you do about SS. I feel not enough was done to sell the PPV outside of the Rock teaming with Cena. And Rocky himself did virtually nothing to boost Miz or Truth up before taking the easy win on them.

TBH this 'Mania itself is probably going to be a testament to pushing those undeserving.

Here comes my most unpopular opinion in the brand new spanking thread...

I think the undefeated streak of Undertaker is an out-dated angle that needs to be put in the back and shot.

This year he'll literally come back just to have his one match at 'Mania just like he did last year and immediately be put over someone. This spot should go to any one of the guys who have worked all year. And if 'Taker has to work the show, let him put over that superstar who deserves the spot more than he does.

I wholeheartedly agree with that statement. It's painfully obvious that Taker just doesn't have it anymore, seeing as how the last time we saw him he was being helped to the back at WM 27. If he wants to go out like a professional should go, he should be defeated just as HBK and Ric Flair. A win over Taker at WM would solidify the challenger immediately. Personally, I would look toward Barrett to do the honors, or even Sheamus. Either way, I say a 19-1 record should be how he goes out.

Exactly. If he's so banged up he can only wrestle once a year. And they don't even know if he can (or as a few months they weren't sure) it's clear he just not able to go anymore. So why continue to build him? A stupid win-loss record at one PPV won't break him or his legend. Going out with a bang rather than a whisper would be the way to go. Imagine the buzz around his first loss. It would be the talk of thw wrestling world. No one would see him going 19-1. They all expect him to get the 20th win. Just imagine how far this would take the gent who beat the dead man? Jericho still talks about his defeat of Austin and Rock in one night to become the Undisputed Champion. This would be even bigger. Instant new star to help reign in a new generation of WWE.

Re: Unpopular Wrestling Opinions Redux

Okay, here's one. And I think it may not be as unpopular as I think but I'll try it out.

Randy Orton is my Wrestler of the Year. Right in front of CM Punk. Orton has had a fabulous year with multiple upon multiple really good to really great matches. The great series with Christian. The 'Mania match with Punk. His Raw match with Ziggler. That entertaining as hell match with David Otunga on the live Smackdown.

Everything about him has been fantastic this year. Kudos to him because I never would have thought I would put him as my WOTY.

Not unpopular at all. Before when we were discussing WOTY most of us agreed RKO had the best year. Next to CM Punk and Bobby Roode.

Alright, that's good. I know I wasn't the only one who thought that but I just wanted to see. Those 3 are definitely my top 3 WOTY's this year. Even though Bobby Roode started getting incredibly epic just recently.

I agree with Orton as well, he has been on top of his game all around. One thing he can be credited for as well is his willingness to put other guys over and still maintain his spot.

Eat this one.......

Eddie Kingston is the best promo guy in the business today and can talk people into any match he's involved in. His promo setting up his match with Mike Quackenbush at High Noon was better than CM Punk's "shoot" promos earlier in the year.

Are they available on YouTube? I wouldn't mind checking them out for myself.
