A Special Themed MITB for WrestleMania 28

WWE creative has been considering holding a Money in the Bank Ladder Match at WrestleMania 28 in which all the participants are former world champions, according to Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
The idea could include Jack Swagger, Randy Orton, Alberto Del Rio, Mark Henry, Christian and Kane, among others.

I really like that idea as I have read they still playing on doing the ppv with the Raw and SD briefcase. They can let the young guys have a match there. I feel this idea will make the match at Mania seem more important and be a good yearly attraction. Think of the possible participants.

    - Miz
    - Kane
    - Orton
    - Show
    - Henry
    - ADR
    - Rey
    - RVD as his deal expires in March
    - Booker
    - Christian
    - Dolph
    - Swagger

It really does give a lot of guys something important to do on that night and makes that one particular match seem big if you go with the idea of they can cash on either champ, while the other two cases months later are brand exclusive.

    What are your thoughts?

I actually rather if it was the other way around and make it be full of guys who have never been world champion before. I feel like that would be the better theme to help create some stars who have never been stars.

I feel people like Orton, KANE, Mysterio and maybe even Miz should have a singles matches but there a quite a few names that could be great for this concept. I also would rather have Del Rio have singles match, too but I think he'd probably work well in this kind of match. I especially like it to get people like Dolph and Swagger on the card seeing as I'm not sure what else they would be doing on the card. I'd have Dolph probably win this but to be fair he could easily fit into one of these types of matches with younger guys later on in the year.

It is WrestleMania. I can't say that enough.

Scrubs should not be on there. McIntyre, Bourne, Riley and those type belong in the battle royale, not on the $60 ppv.

I think it is a great place and middle ground. Guys like Rey, Kane, Christian, Miz, Dolph, Henry, and so on all get that time that they deserve, have earned, and to be showcased in a clash of the champions and elite on the grandest stage of them all. By being in the match they can all be built up on the weeks leading to the ppv in one story as opposed to barely having a thrown together feud get little development time story wise heading into Mania. Fans want to see those guys play role, they pay to see them, and those guys deserve that time and pay day more than most. Dolph, Swagger, and Miz aren't old but they can play a big role and look really good on this stage and with that kind of talent and name value. Plus they have earned the right to be there. In fact I think Dolph will win there and it will mean much more than winning the Raw only briefcase.

I am not saying that guys like Bourne, Kofi, Riley, Sin Cara, Wade, Drew, and so on shouldn't get time or a shot to showcase themselves in a mtach like this. I'm saying that is not the place and time. The place and time for them to do that is in the summer in the two brand exclusive matches imo where the stage is still important being a ppv, but not Mania.

I also hope that this means Cody will be defending the IC title and that Swag will drop the US title in time for it to be defended

I agree, because other than a few of those people, it looks like it will be a bunch of flops fighting for a 2nd chance, which sounds a little lame.

Honestly, I think the MITB concept has really run it's course and is starting to seem like overkill doing it every single year. I know some would argue "it gives younger stars a chance", but how many of these younger stars do we really need winning world championships? There is already a considerable amount of main event-caliber stars and there are plenty of other ways to establish a superstar's credibility than snatching a briefcase and winning a belt cheaply.

I really wouldn't object if WWE just scrapped the match entirely.

I like MITB because they don't take KOR serious anymore and it is the modern day equivalent

So the modern day equivalent is supporting spotfests instead tournaments? Where is a time machine when you need one?

I never said go put guys who are on the chopping block in the match I just said use guys like Ryder, Dolph (his title win doesn't really get brought up thankfully since that isn't a real reign), Kofi etc. Want guys in the match for one that is full of guys who could work the match the way it should be worked. That's why I don't want the likes of Henry and Kane in it. That's not the type of match they should be in. Those are the kind of guys you have in storyline matches. Put guys who are hungry to steal the show and willing to kill themselves to shine at mania in the match.

Kane is a MITB staple. How can he not work the match the way it should be worked? He has been involved in more MITB matches than almost anyone in the company and has even worked TLC solo versus teams before. He is as much a staple and guy who fits the match as a Kofi. Heck he was in the very first MITB match. Henry also deserves a featured spot on the ppv more than Kofi or Ryder imo based on actual work put in, but I do want Ryder to have the US title and defend it at Mania.

    My ideal card is

    Taker/HHH
    Punk/Jericho
    Rock/Cena
    Sheamus/Bryan
Cody/Goldust assuming his brother wants to retire
Colons in a Tag Turmoil as it has been too long since they did one
MITB World Champ Edition - Orton/Rey/Miz/Dolph/Swagger/Kane/Henry/ADR/Christian/Book/RVD?
    Shaq/Show
Ryder in a 3 or 4 way with Truth and Kofi
Trish/Beth going by their tweets to one another

I know that but I never really was much of a fan of him being in the match. I just prefer to see the quicker guys in a match like that. I think esp this year with Kane revamped he needs to be in a match that has a storyline instead of a throw in. This would be my ideal MITB match not having any kind of specific theme.

Kofi/Dolph/Bourne/RVD/Morrison(since it seems like he could easily always comeback)/Rey

Want to get it back to being just a 6 man mitb instead of 8.
