Tag Team Championship Match Signed For Contenders Cup

    January 26, 2012

With Seize The Day V fresh in our minds, we here at CLASHWRESTLING.COM ask that everyone shift their focus to Saturday night, February 25th when we present the second annual Contenders Cup! If last year was any indication, February 25th’s Contenders Cup will go down as one of the most explosive events of the 2012 CLASH Calendar.

We know what to expect of the evening’s Main Event, the Contenders Cup Match itself, where six of the top competitors in CLASH Wrestling will battle in an Elimination Style Match until one person is left, thus winning possession of the Contenders Cup Trophy & #1 Contendership to the CLASH Championship! Expect the Contenders Cup Match competitors to be announced in the days and weeks to come, until then we do have the first signed match to announce for February 25th.

Last month, CLASH management decided that the CLASH Tag Team Championship would be contested under Triple Threat rules at Seize The Day V. Those in attendance saw the Painkillers ruin said match, but CLASH officials have ordered that the match to take place at Contenders Cup!

Thus, on February 25th, the CLASH Tag Team Champions of The H3RD will defend their gold against the former champions Too Sweet and the demonic duo of the Painkillers! Never in CLASH history has the Tag Team titles been defended in a Triple Threat Match, but that will change at the Contenders Cup! Which team will walk out with the gold around their waists? There’s only one way to find out! Join us for CONTENDERS CUP on FEBRUARY 25TH! Tickets are available, now, click here to get yours today!

NEW CLASH HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION – PETEY WILLIAMS!
We’ve received tons of messages and compliments regarding the stellar main event that closed out SEIZE THE DAY V between Gavin Quinn, Petey Williams, and J. Miller. Already an early MOTY (Match Of The Year) candidate but more importantly it begins a new era…the era of Petey Williams. Petey successfully outlasted both competitors by pinning Gavin Quinn with his signature “Canadian Destroyer” off the top rope ending Quinn’s 15 month reign as champion. What will the era of Petey Williams behold? Gavin Quinn is entitled to a rematch according to his contract, when will this happen? Stay tuned to find out!

NEW CLASH TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS – H3RD
Due to a match switch involving the Painkillers (Donnie & Jacob Hallows) getting involved in Zach Gowen & Colt Cabana’s bout; they were subsequently removed from their advertised title opportunity. This gave both H3RD (Tommy Treznik & Ded Vaughn) and Too Sweet (Bryce Benjamin & Joey Marx) better odds to 50/50. In the end, it was H3RD that left victorious making this version of Treznik’s H3RD formula two time tag team champions. Tommy Treznik currently holds the record as most Tag Team title wins (6 occasions) in which looks to be his most successful tag team formula yet with Ded Vaughn. To “Too Sweet’s” credit, its notable to mention that Bryce Benjamin was the first competitor to ever kick out of Treznik’s devastating “Bus Driver” maneuver before finally succumbing to the H3RD.

    A “BOOM BOOM” DEBUT
Although originally advertised as Colt Cabana vs. Zach Gowen; and interruption by The Painkillers resulted in a tag team match giving Cabana & Gowen the victory in Cabana’s debut for CLASH Wrestling. Will we see Colt Cabana again? You can count on it! Colt Cabana received a great reaction from the CLASH faithful, so stay tuned for further talent announcements in our 2012 season.

WRECKINGBALL WINS, BUT WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?
In a match that had so many emotionally involved, the non-contracted Wreckingball defeated CLASH competitor, “Caveman” Tyler Elkins in a non-sanctioned bout at SEIZE THE DAY V. Hold on, but where do we go from here? Remember, Randy “Wreckingball” Casey is NOT employed by CLASH Wrestling since being released by CEO Truth Martini in April 2011 and reinforced by his right hand man Dragon Greed. So although it’s a win for Wreckingball, this is not a contract back into CLASH Wrestling and on 2/25 he will be purchasing a ticket for general admission should he want to support CLASH. What’s on Elkins’ mind though? He lost to a non-contracted individual certainly damaging some his integrity. What will he have to say? Find out at CONTENDERS CUP on 2/25!

CAMERON SKYY’S BRASH FAREWELL TO “AMAZING” N8
One of the other big moments of SEIZE THE DAY V featured “Amazing” N8 Mattson’s departure from a 15 year in-ring competitor to the business. This moment allowed N8 to talk about what he had accomplished, what’s next, and lastly to pass the torch to those he had been connected with in CLASH – Mena Libra & Cameron Skyy. In the midst of this speech, Cameron Skyy intervened by saying that torch was extinguished just like N8’s career. Skyy brought to attention that he was former three-time CLASH Champion (more than any competitor) and since being “mentored” by N8 Mattson, it has only brought him loss after loss. Skyy stated that 2012 would be a new year with no N8; with that said Cameron Skyy later on went to gain the win over Former WWE Star Jimmy Wang Yang.

    GREED IS GOOD
For Dragon Greed, the 1%’er, greed certainly is good as money talks. Impromptu, Greed (which his CEO power from Truth Martini) added a special referee of Austin Manix to call his singles bout with “Swagg Starr” Dave Manzo. Needless to say, this handicap aided Greed to victory and is a story we’re certain we haven’t seen the end of yet.

    WILL VENDETTA RETURNS
While he’s been on the CLASH roster since our birth on January 5, 2008; Will Vendetta has seen a variety of transformations. Being brought in as an aspiring green-haired independent wrestler, becoming the “Guitar Hero,” then denouncing his name to be referred to as William J. O’Malley; you might ask why back to Will Vendetta? Well, we don’t know either, but what we do know is that is had something to do with “Mad Scientist” Tommy Treznik’s left over elixir for Ded Vaughn made to take Vaughn back to his previous form (more monstrous) for a tag title win. This previous form if drunk by a guy like William J. O’Malley…I think you get where we’re going here. Will Vendetta of old is back, and we’re interested to see what goals he has set!

That’s all for now, we’ll be back frequently updating you on the explosive card we have in store for CONTENDERS CUP on February 25th in Taylor, MI!

Williams vs. Quinn Rematch Signed For Contenders Cup

    January 31, 2012

Last week we learned of the huge Triple Threat Tag Team Championship Match signed for Contenders Cup on February 25th, and today we are happy to announce another blockbuster match. This bout should come as no surprise as the New CLASH Champion “Maple Leaf Muscle” Petey Williams will defend his title against the former Champion “GQ” Gavin Quinn!

Gavin Quinn held the CLASH Championship for a record 15 months in a reign that may never be matched. On February 25th, the brash GQ will get his guaranteed rematch for the title! Should Petey Williams defeat Quinn at the Contenders Cup, he will do what no man has been able to do in two years, that is, defeat Gavin Quinn in a singles match (Quinn’s last pinfall loss in singles competition was against Jimmy Jacobs in February 2010).

Furthermore this will be the third time in the last 12 months that Quinn & Williams will square off in singles competition with Quinn leading Petey 2-0 in their prior encounters. Can Petey Williams finally defeat Gavin Quinn to continue his Championship reign? Or will Gavin Quinn prove that Seize The Day V was simply a fluke and regain the title that he has become synonymous with? There’s only one way to find out! Join us for what can only be called the BIGGEST REMATCH IN CLASH WRESTLING HISTORY! Gavin Quinn vs. Petey Williams: With the CLASH Championship On The Line! Only at the CONTENDERS CUP on FEBRUARY 25TH! Tickets are available, now, click here to get yours today!

Makes sense. Should be very solid, their matches in the past have been. Nice to see the triple threat happening, though I'm happy with the new champs. Vaughn was impressive in the title win.

Hey all, new match signed for 2/25 below -

All Six Competitors Announced For 2012 Contenders Cup

    February 6, 2012

The Contenders Cup debuted last February, pitting six of the top competitors of CLASH Wrestling in an Elimination Match with the winner recieving the Contenders Cup Trophy & #1 Contendership to the CLASH Championship. On February 25th this new CLASH tradition continues and we at CLASHWRESTLING.COM have learned of the six competitors who will square off in the 2012 incarnation of the match.

    J. MILLER
Fresh off a Match Of The Year performance at Seize The Day V, the “Murderous Monk” J. Miller was awarded entry into the 2012 Contenders Cup Match. While Miller was not successful in his championship quest on January 21st, he wasn’t the man pinned either. A victory in the 2012 Contenders Cup would propel the former CLASH Champion right back into title contention.

    CAMERON SKYY
The only multiple time CLASH Champion in history, Cameron Skyy has already proclaimed 2012 to be the year he climbs back atop the CLASH mountain. At Seize The Day V, Skyy ditched his former mentor N8 Mattson and used underhanded tactics to defeat Jimmy Yang Wang. While both acts may be seen as treacherous, they certainly have allowed Skyy a ton of momentum going into the 2012 Contenders Cup Match.

    DRAGON GREED
In recent months, Dragon Greed’s ego has grown to match the size of his bank account. Since being hired as CLASH CEO Truth Martini’s accomplice, Greed has made it a point to let everyone know that what he wants, he gets. Victorious over rival Dave Manzo at Seize The Day V, the former CLASH Champion has now set his sights on winning the 2012 Contenders Cup Match.

    TYLER ELKINS
2011 was a landmark year for the Caveman, as Tyler Elkins defeated numerous competitors and was victorious in the first (and only) Steel Cage Match in CLASH Wrestling history. While 2012 may have gotten off to a rocky start with his loss to Wreckingball at Seize The Day V, a victory in the 2012 Contenders Cup Match would instantly get the Caveman back on track to reclaiming the CLASH Championship he once held.

    SHARK BOY
While he may not be a former CLASH Champion like the four men above, Shark Boy is a world traveled competitor & veteran of the sport. In his travels (both by land & by sea) Shark Boy has stopped by CLASH before and was involved in last year’s inaugural Contenders Cup. When asked if he would like a second chance at becoming #1 Contender to the CLASH Championship, Shark Boy responded the only way he knows how, “OH SHELL YEAH!”

    ???
The 2012 Contenders Cup Match has an element of mystery as the sixth and final competitor will not be announced until Saturday night, February 25th. Word around the water cooler is that accomplice to the CLASH CEO Dragon Greed has drawn up an iron clad contract that he plans to present to the mystery entrant live & in person at the Contenders Cup event.

Six competitors: four of them former CLASH Champions, one a world renowned veteran and another a complete mystery. Who will walk out the winner of the 2012 Contenders Cup? Who will be the new #1 contender to the coveted CLASH Championship? There’s only one way to find out! Join us for our new February tradition, the CONTENDERS CUP on FEBRUARY 25TH! Tickets are available now, click here to get yours today!

Hey guys, dropping by a couple updates both a signed match and new video below -

Mena Libra vs. Leah Von Dutch Added To Contenders Cup

    February 9, 2012

For the past two years, Mena Libra has squared off against any and all competitors that have been placed in front of her. Whether it was a man, a woman or even CLASH CEO Truth Martini, Mena has wrestled them all, undoubtedly proving herself to be one of the most resourceful competitors in all of CLASH. At the Contenders Cup, Mena will be presented with a new challenge in fellow female competitor Leah Von Dutch.

With less than a year of experience under her belt, Leah Von Dutch is a relative newcomer to the sport of professional wrestling. But what Von Dutch lacks in experience she makes up for in her training. Hand selected by former WWE Champion Edge (VIDEO BELOW), Von Dutch was trained by one of the finest schools in all of Canada. Word on the street is that Von Dutch is talented and she knows it. Her elitist attitude has not won her many friends in her native country. Time will only tell if she brings that same cockiness to CLASH Wrestling.

Which of these female competitors will walk out victorious on February 25th? Can Mena Libra continue her momentum with a victory over the debuting Leah Von Dutch? Or will Von Dutch make an instant impression by defeating the most dominant female competitor in CLASH history? There’s only one way to find out! Join us for CONTENDERS CUP on FEBRUARY 25TH! Dave Manzo vs. Austin Manix Signed For Contenders Cup

    February 17, 2012

For the last six months, “Swagg Starr” Dave Manzo has had his sights set on the accomplice to the CLASH CEO Dragon Greed. This rivalry came to a head last month at Seize The Day V, when Manzo & Greed were scheduled for singles competition. Little did Manzo know that Greed had a trick up his sleeve in signing Austin Manix as the special guest referee of the bout. Despite Manzo’s best efforts, he was unable to defy the odds and defeat Greed.

Now, one month later at next Saturday’s Contenders Cup, the “Swagg Starr” will square off with the man who helped Greed defeat him at Seize The Day V. It’s Dave Manzo vs. Austin Manix, one on one, on February 25th! Which man will walk out the victor on February 25th? There’s only one way to find out! Join us for CONTENDERS CUP on FEBRUARY 25TH! Tickets are available now, click here to get yours today!
